Baby No. 2, Loosing weight and Being at Peace

Peace of mind

Baby No. 2

It has been a really long time since I wrote and even though I have tons of topics to write about, I just couldn’t find the time to do it. I delivered by second baby 7 months ago and my baby brain just couldn’t focus on so many things at one time. Even though the delivery and recovery went really well, I still couldn’t get the focus right as I was breastfeeding and waking up numerous times every night. Now that things started to get somewhat to normality (as normal as it can with two kids under 4 years old) I will definitely be here more often.

The great news is that the second time around it was so much more easier for me and even my baby boy seems a lot calmer. After all he is a lingzhi baby and seems very strong and healthy. As many of you know, the most challenging thing now is to balance work, kids and hobbies. I’ve also been trying to get back into shape with healthy diets and daily exercise. I manages to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, however my body shape is not there yet so still have some work to do.

Post pregnancy weight loss

By recommendation of a friend, I started following Tracy Anderson 30-Day Method which includes a meal plan and daily exercise routines. It worked great for me as I didn’t need any equipment and could do the exercises while kids were asleep. I managed to loose 5kg in a month which was not too bad as I wanted to shed the kilos slower this time around. After my last delivery, I lost weight too fast and without exercising so I ended up with lots of saggy body parts. 🙂

Meals are fairly easy to prepare and you don’t feel hungry as it consists of 4 meals a day. The diet is based on no carbs and low fat with mostly chicken and fish as a source of protein. There is also a vegetarian version of the diet in the book so you can mix and match. At first the exercises were pretty tough and I didn’t do as many repetitions, but as I went along my stamina came back and I could push through. Besides mat exercises she offers dance cardio videos which can replace your usual cardio routines. Even though I enjoy dancing, the dance routines on this video were not so fun and my calves were burning after each work out. So I incorporated some running as well as other cardio videos. I followed this religiously for a month and exercises at least 6 days a week.

After 1 month I still had around 4 kg to loose, but didn’t want to go on another strict diet so I just avoided carbs as much as possible as I know that carbs just don’t work for my body. In terms of exercise I follow different videos on You Tube of either HIIT, Tracy Anderson, Compound Exercises or I just do a 45min gym work out. As I mentioned I did loose all the baby weight, but still need to get in shape.

To assist in faster weight loss and recovery I’ve increased my lingzhi, pollen and probiotics intake. As well as I started taking protein and fibre on regular basis. This has helped me with digestion and getting rid of excess belly fat and my energy levels have gone through the roof. Not only the energy levels, but my mind is a lot sharper and memory has improved greatly.

Peace of mind

I’ve also been restructuring my food truck business so that has been taking a lot of my time as well, but it’s been fun so I’m looking forward to our future growth. What I found really helped me in focusing and organising my business was the fact that my mind was at ease and I could deal much better with all the challenges that have been coming my way. Since practicing the Ho’oponopono method, I’ve been a lot more at peace and I’ve been managing my emotions a lot better. You can read all about this amazing ancient method and Mabel Katz book The Easiest Way To Live in my previous post.

I know it sounds so cliche, but honestly being grateful and at peace with the situation you are in makes things so much easier. It is a lot easier said than done and in order to achieve this peace you do need to find a method that works for you as it doesn’t happen naturally. Surrounding yourself with positive people and mentors who can help you achieve your goals is extremely important as well. I am very lucky to have a number of great mentors by my side and we seem to be wanting very similar things in life; peace, health, harmony and happiness.

My health quest has been on going throughout this time and I truly believe that we need to put the effort to learn how to take care of our bodies as well as to research all the possible options when it comes to illnesses and diseases. It is not easy to filter through all the possible diagnoses, however we do need to dig deeper. For those who have been following my blog, you know I’m a true believer of choosing natural over western medications, but at the same time I know that sometimes it is imminent and you do have to see a doctor. However once you know how your body works and how it gets effected by different lifestyles and diets as well as medication, then it is easier for you to make certain decisions. I still visit Western doctors, but when I listen to their prognosis now is a lot different then before as I have the basic knowledge how certain organs work and interrelate to each other.

Thank you to all those following my blog and more health posts are coming up.

Stay Healthy,
